Aberdare Waterfalls Trek
4-day trek through bamboo forests to stunning waterfalls.
Overview
The Aberdare Range is Mount Kenya's green twin — a moorland and cloud-forest massif where the drama is water, not rock. This trek follows moorland trails to a series of spectacular falls, headlined by Karuru Falls, Kenya's tallest at 273 metres, thundering in three steps into a forested gorge, with the Gura Falls dropping opposite in a single leap. Along the way: giant lobelia and heather taller than you are, fresh elephant and buffalo tracks, trout streams, and — on clear days — Mount Kenya's peaks floating on the horizon. Cool air and gentle gradients make this the perfect acclimatisation walk before a big climb, or a green escape in its own right.
