A 4-day safari is the ideal timeframe to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, giving you the highest statistical chance to witness dramatic river crossings without requiring a lengthy trip
Experience one of nature's greatest spectacles - the Great Migration. Watch thousands of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River during peak migration season (July-October).
Depart Nairobi at 07:00 and travel through the Rift Valley to Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. After settling in, embark on an afternoon game drive (16:00-18:30) focusing on the Big Five and the early stages of the wildebeest migration (seasonal). Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
We leave with packed breakfast and lunch boxes for a full day in the prime migration areas, particularly the Mara River crossing points (if timing aligns). We spend the entire day in the reserve, following the herds and waiting for crossings. Our expert guide uses radio communication to get the best sightings. Return to lodge at sunset for dinner.
Early morning optional hot air balloon safari (cost extra) offers a unique perspective over the Mara. After breakfast, we head out for a game drive in a different sector. Return for lunch, then an afternoon game drive. Overnight at lodge.
Final early morning enroute from maasai mara (06:00-08:30). Return for breakfast, then depart for Nairobi. Arrive in the afternoon. Drop-off at hotel or airport.
