Trek to the summit of Ol Doinyo Lengai -- the world's only active carbonatite volcano and sacred 'Mountain of God' of the Maasai people. Starting at midnight, the steep 5-6 hour climb up volcanic ash and scree rewards you with a spectacular sunrise over the Great Rift Valley, views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, and the surreal active crater with its unique black lava. This 2-day adventure from Arusha includes the scenic drive to Lake Natron, the overnight summit trek, and a visit to Ngare Sero waterfalls.

Depart Arusha early for the scenic 7-hour drive through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Natron. After lunch at camp, take a guided hike to the beautiful Ngare Sero waterfalls through a lush gorge. Return to camp for dinner with views of Ol Doinyo Lengai glowing in the sunset. Rest before the midnight departure.
