Lake Manyara National Park is a compact gem on Tanzania's northern safari circuit, set beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. The alkaline lake attracts vast flocks of flamingos and pelicans, while the surrounding groundwater forest, acacia woodland, and open grassland shelter tree-climbing lions, elephants, hippos, and over 400 bird species.
