4 days mountkenya tour Naromoru route.

We start our journey from Nairobi heading to thika,karatina nyeri road.for 4 hours,through the rich green lands covered with  tea and coffee to Naromoru town,we head to the 1st right junction after the main town,and drive for 10km to mountkenya naromoru gate.2400m.this is where we have the mountkenya headquarters,our hike starts at this gate,Today we hike through the forest,the forest is covered with indigenous trees that forms a canopy,and creates better shades,good breathing breezes,it makes someone feel in another world.our walking distance completes at met station camp having covered a distance of 9km and an elevation of 650m and 3070

The weather condition in this area is humid, during the evening on a good season it will be cool and warm.

After our earlier breakfast on our second day,the whole clues of Porter’s guides and cook together with our visitors start the hike with a steep elevation, passing through the meteorological station,the indigenous trees,bamboos grow up to an attitude of 3500m.the hiking distance from met station camp to our next camp is 13km,and an elevation height of 950m to mackinders camp 4300m above sea level.

The terraine is mashy,boggy and wet,and the weather changes unpredictably.the trails are Rocky, along the tereki valley that connects to mackinders camp.hikers can either pitch their tents or sleep in huts on this route.

Our 3rd day is strenuous as this is the day that we have to summit.one has to wake up early before the cock crows,at 2:30am.on a clear day the stars are seen,and you barely need a torch as the trail is clear.with the best hiking boots,you are able to hold the scree vertically and holizontaly and this makes the walking easy.The surrounding peaks are best seen on this side we have point Peter,where technical rock trainers can better taste their climbing experience.mountkenya is volcanic.due to the eruption,many peaks sourounding the main peaks we’re formed,some of the main peaks are:

The highest top most hut in this side of the mountain is the Austrian hut,4790m.The hut is a few kilometers from the our attempting peak of point lenana,much of the glacier can be seen on this side of the mountain,where one has to walk beside it,at 6: o’clock every one has to be at the upstairs of via ferratta, ready to see the sunrise after a struggling walk.having conquered the African highest hiking peak of point lenana,one may decide to hike down through the same route or walk down a different route of mtkenya at the base camp of 3300m

Our day 4 is easy, as this is on a descent walk down through the main equatorial forest or the rain forest of the mountain,the wildlife in the mountkenya are, elephants, bufalloes, zebras,baboons,antelopes,eland,and the water bucks among more.
